ABOUT SKF

A non-profit organisation, the Sunrise K' Foundation was set up in 2013 and registered in Beirut with the Registrar of Civil Court No 576L2013 and the Registrar of Ministry of Interior Foundation No 4214L2013. The two primary goals are to raise awareness of glaucoma in children, and to raise funds to help London's Moorfields Eye Hospital, continue its excellent research and support under the leadership of the acclaimed eye expert Professor Sir Peng Tee Kaw.

OUR MISSION

Congenital or Infantile glaucoma can affect children, without warning, from birth. Early diagnosis is key to treating the disease, although currently there is no known cure. Everyday symptoms such as watery eyes, excessive tearing, redness and enlarged pupil size are often misattributed and thought harmless.

Yet left untreated or caught too late, the onset of glaucoma can cause incremental deterioration of a child's eyesight, with complete loss of vision. Up to 25% of children diagnosed with congenital glaucoma will go blind before they reach adulthood.
